Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, an inorganic compound, is white crystalline or amorphous white powder in appearance. It is easily soluble in water. The aqueous solution is slightly alkaline, slightly soluble in alcohol, hygroscopic, and self-dissolves at higher temperatures. The relative density is 2,338, and the internal dehydration of the molecule is converted into potassium pyrophosphate at 204℃. The pH value of a one-hundredth aqueous solution is 8,9. Mainly used in medicine, fermentation, bacterial culture and preparation of potassium pyrophosphate, etc. Industrial production of dipotassium hydrogen phosphate is made by neutralizing phosphoric acid with caustic potassium solution. It can also be obtained by neutralizing phosphoric acid with potassium carbonate solution first, and then neutralizing with caustic potassium solution.
